For Irish Famine Relief, from England

(Liberator, April 16, 1847, pg 3)   A letter sent  to  Mr. Garrison , From the Bristol (England) Mirror, of January 2d. The letter is dated December 18, 1846, from Skibbereen, received “by a lady in Bristol”. The writer indicates that the chief object in sending the letter was, “to furnish one more commentary on the oppression of the Irish people, and the utter mismanagement of Irish affairs, attributable to grasping absentee proprietors, and to the illiberal policy of the English government through a long series of years…”
