Impressions of an English visitor

The August 20, 1858 Liberator includes a letter to the editor, from W. Robeson, an Englishman, who has traveled recently in the United States.  He gives impressions of Kentucky and Ohio, contrasting the slave and free state.  He speaks of uplift on a visit to colored citizens at worship, and indicates that he cannot understand the “feelings of the American Christians towards the Africans”.
