An “encouraging meeting” at the Music Hall, is reported here. Judge Thomas Russell and Senator Wilson are among the speakers. The item, written by S. M., Jr., includes a comment that the meeting was deficient in not addressing “a respectful but unqualified remonstrance” and general disapproval of President Johnson’s plan for Reconstruction.
