Saxonville has an Anti-Slavery Society

Another Society

Mr. Editor: — At a meeting of the inhabitants of Saxonville, favorable to the cause of abolition, held April 5th, 1838,  they formed an Anti-Slavery Society.

The following gentlemen were then chosen officers:   President ,  Rev. Jothan Haven;  Vice President, Mr. Nathaniel Gill;   Cor. Secretary, Lewis Jones, Esq.,

Rec. Secretary, Mr. Samuel Soden;  Treasurer,  Mr. Edward Poor;  Counsellors:  Mr. Elijah Puffer, Mr. Hanson L. Knowles.
