Settlement in British Guiana

A notice to the Liberator, from Edward Carbery, Esq., agent of the Immigration Society of British Guiana, having appointed John T. Hilton,Thomas Cole, W.S. Jennings,  J.W. Butler, and James Barbadoes, of Boston, a committee to carry out the object of that Society, they have consented, and are ready to receive and register names of all free colored persons who want to settle there.  Transportation to the colony will be free.  Signed by Barbadoes.  (Liberator,  April 3, 1840, pg 4)
